📜 Server Rules

📜 The Oasis Roleplay Community Rules
[POINT BASED PUNISHMENT SYSTEM]
Section One: Punishments
At The Oasis Roleplay we decided that it would be best to have a very simple, yet strict punishment system. If you violate the rules, you are banned from the community. You are able to appeal the ban in Discord if:
- You feel the ban was wrongful and you have proof
- You show signs that you are sincerely sorry for the violation and are willing to change
Some violations are not appealable and they are as follows:
- Sexual harassment
- Racism, sexism, or any other kind of discrimination
- Hacking, cheating, or exploiting
- OOC Harassment
In addition to this, you may not appeal a ban for any rules in this document marked as non-appealable.
Section Two: Some Reminders for Players
- Staff has the final say in how many points are given to a player, if any, following a report.
- Without evidence, it is difficult for staff to do more than give a warning to a player as these situations typically end in one player’s word versus another, so if possible please get clips of rule violations.
- There is a Discord channel in The Oasis Roleplay Discord for reporting a player via opening a ticket. If there is a player who violated a rule, please use this channel to report it as it is easier to upload evidence, and staff members will be able to get to you sooner, especially if none are on the server at the time.
- Points are not wiped from a record at any regular interval. It depends on the circumstances of the points, and the severity of the offense. If you feel as though you have been treated unfairly, or staff has given you an unfair punishment, you may report the staff member using the appropriate Discord channels.
[GENERAL RULES]
Section One: Disrespect and Harassment
- We are a mature community and expect our players to reflect that.
- Players should never attack players out-of-character for any reason.
- Players are to respect other community members' opinions and suggestions.
- Allow staff to mediate issues between players in regards to the server.
- Players are expected to leave drama at the door in this community. We will not tolerate players bringing unneeded drama into our server. If there is an issue between players, have a member of administration mediate a discussion or do not bring it up at all.
- Sexual harassment, hate speech, racial slurs, or any other derogatory conduct that degrades the quality of life in the community is forbidden in-character and out-of-character. Violations of this rule will result in permanent removal.
Section Two: Rules Relating to the Administration Team
- Administration members have the final say in all situations and all punishment decisions.
- If a community member has a complaint regarding an administration member, they should use the report a staff member form in the Discord.
- Refer to the Discord for ban appeals and staff report forms.
- Always follow the chain of command when requesting assistance from an administration member.
- If an administration member is called to a situation that you are involved in, you are not permitted to leave the server unless you are dismissed by said member. Otherwise you may receive a temporary ban for leaving to avoid punishment.
- Players should not self-staff. If you are not a member of administration it is not your place to resolve rule violations.
- Impersonation of a member of the administration team is grounds for immediate permanent removal.
- Disrespecting a staff member is grounds for immediate permanent removal from the community.
Section Three: Microphone Rules
- All players are required to have a working microphone.
- You must be able to speak and understand general English.
- Mic spamming in game is prohibited.
- Music is allowed to be played through your microphone within reason.
Section Four: Other General Guidelines
- Players are asked to avoid advertising us in other communities. While we appreciate players wanting to build the playerbase, we do not want any harsh relations with another community of FiveM players. This does not include communities outside of FiveM.
- We expect all players to show respect towards other communities, thus we do not condone trolling, griefing, or otherwise annoying behaviors by our members on other servers.
- Players that consistently find “loopholes” in the community guidelines or prove to be consistently troublesome may be subject to punishment if it results in the betterment of the community.
- Players may not transfer assets from one of their characters to another of their characters.
Section Five: Adult Erotic 18+
- Roleplay of this nature is permitted on the server; however, it must be behind closed doors. There is housing, motels, and hotels that can be utilized. This is to protect the streamers we have in the city.
- All activity of this nature should have the consent of all parties involved
- No Rape RP
- While females do have naked tops/bottoms, these should not be used in public without clothing covering the nipples/bottom. They are intended to be used with outfits that need that type of setting in order to not look funky: aka bathing suits, certain dresses, etc.
- This means no one should be in a public place or business with any portion completely nude. Again, you should be in a house, motel room or hotel room if you are going to rp in this fashion.
[PASSIVE ROLEPLAY RULES]
Section One: Business Rules
- In order to create a lawful business you must submit an application to be given a business license.
- You may operate without a license, but you may be punished by law enforcement in-character for doing so.
- Businesses must be opened on properties purchased by the player.
- If you do not own a property please do not attempt to operate a business at that location.
- Some businesses may run out of vehicles rather than large properties. For instance, you could sell something out of the back of a van, or you could start a Uber-like taxi service using your personal vehicle.
Section Two: General Job Rules
- Players are allowed to use personal vehicles for their job so long as the vehicle would be able to realistically carry out such an act. For the mining, players should only use a truck.
Section Three: Whitelist Job Rules
- Whitelist jobs are only granted to those who have put in applications that have been accepted.
- Willingly giving whitelisted job items to regular civilian players or giving them access to these items can be seen as a means of exploitation. Examples include, but are not limited to, giving people whitelisted cars to drive, giving them access to whitelisted weapons, and allowing them to utilize scripts associated with whitelisted jobs.
- You are not permitted to play as a whitelisted position if you have not been accepted to said position.
[HOSTILE AND CRIMINAL ROLEPLAY RULES]
Section One: Killing and Kill Rights
- Random Death Match (RDM) and Vehicle DeathMatch (VDM, RDM but with a vehicle) are never permitted.
- You must always have a valid in-character reason for killing or attempting to kill a player.
- If a player is with a group and is attacked then those in the group may defend themselves. Note that if your life is not in danger you may still face repercussions in-character from the police.
- If a situation is occurring and you are not directly involved in it, you DO NOT have kill rights in that situation.
- Non-compliant hostages may be shot, injured, or killed so long as they are given an adequate amount of time to react
- Following a hostile encounter, the players involved in the situation have kill rights for twenty minutes.
- After twenty minutes have passed, all involved lose kill rights unless they have already re-engaged.
Section Two: Unrealistic Crimes and Safezones
- Cop baiting is not permitted. Cop baiting is the act of intentionally trying to instigate police and get them to chase, ticket, or arrest you.
- Crimes should not be committed in unrealistic areas.
- All hospitals and police buildings are considered areas it would typically be unrealistic to commit a crime. This means if you commit a crime here, there must be a legitimate reason within roleplay and you must have the appropriate means to carry out the crime.
- If you commit a crime in an area that is unrealistic and you do not have a legitimate reason for doing so, you will be punished for FailRP.
- All hospitals and police buildings are considered areas it would typically be unrealistic to commit a crime. This means if you commit a crime here, there must be a legitimate reason within roleplay and you must have the appropriate means to carry out the crime.
Section Three: Mugging, Kidnapping, and Other Crimes Against Players
-
You may only mug the same player once a day. (Do not harass the same individual over and over)
-
Kidnapping players is permitted, but there are limitations to this style of roleplay.
- There is no maximum amount of ransom that can be requested.
- You may kidnap police officers if more than one is on duty.
- Kidnapping must include roleplay. Do NOT take a player without the intention of providing them with at least some level of roleplay during the encounter.
-
Fake hostages are not permitted (the hostage cannot benefit from the ransom or robbery).
Section Four: Miscellaneous Criminal RP Rules
- Torture roleplay is permitted so long as it does not include sexual assault.
- Combat logging is the act of leaving the server during any roleplay scenario, especially hostile encounters, and it is strictly prohibited in this community.
- Ambush RP is not permitted unless cleared with staff beforehand and the situation is monitored for RDM.
[MISCELLANEOUS ROLEPLAY RULES]
Section One: Metagaming
- Metagaming is using OOC information in-game
- Learning information from an out-of-character Discord chat and applying it in game is not allowed.
- You may only use information gained from in-character channels.
- Communicating with other players regarding in-character events through Discord voice is not permitted.
- Ex. If you are being mugged and tell your friends via Discord so that they may come save you, that is metagaming.
- Using information gained on one of your characters on an alternate character is not permitted. None of your characters should know each other nor have information passed on between them!
- Using information provided in OOC chat in-character is not permitted.
- Using stream information in-game is not permitted under any circumstances.
Section Two: Powergaming
- Powergaming is using game mechanics or community rules to give yourself an unfair advantage over other players.
- Permanently scarring a player’s character is only permitted if the player gives permission.
- Quickly changing the appearance of a vehicle when running from police or any other players is not permitted.
- Passing items to other players while you are handcuffed is not permitted.
Section Three: New Life Rule and Respawning
- Players are not to respawn if law enforcement or medical services are available at the time of their death, or during a roleplay scenario. If no emergency services respond by the time the timer is out, you may respawn.
- If you do not receive medical attention from Medical Services such as EMS / PD and “take the light” / “Respawn with E”, your character forgets the immediate events leading up to being down in the current.
- If the PD arrives at the scene and brings you to Nancy, memories should be treated as fragmented and not coherent, meaning you remember what got you down (Such as descriptions of vehicles, people, and names.). But not who got you down.
- Players are expected to roleplay any and all injuries they receive, and should act in ways that line up with the severity of said injuries including those that do not occur as a direct result of roleplay.
- You may not respawn if they have advised you that Police or EMS are on the way to your scene.
- Permadeath is allowed in roleplay scenarios, but new characters may have NO memories from the dead one.
- A player MUST give permission to permakill their character, the exception is if a gang leader orders a hit on the player and they are in the same gang.
Section Four: Valuing One’s Life
- You may defend yourself in a situation that puts your character in danger, however it must make sense that your character would be able to realistically defend themselves.
- For instance, if a player has you at gunpoint it would be unrealistic to reach for your own weapon as the player would undoubtedly shoot you.
- If you are able to outsmart, or overpower a player, you obviously can. This rule is widely situational.
- Committing suicide is allowed so long as their is an element of roleplay within the situation.
- For instance, call emergency services before doing it to allow them to attempt to talk you down.
- If you commit suicide, your character is dead and may not come back to life.
- Actively attempting to be put in dangerous or deadly situations is considered not valuing your character’s life.
- Once a situation has concluded, players should not put themselves back into the life threatening situation.
Section Five: FailRP
- FailRP is creating unrealistic roleplay scenarios or acting in ways that are unrealistic. This is not permitted under ANY circumstances.
- Breaking character during a situation except when being spoken to by a staff member is not permitted
- Pulling large weapons such as assault rifles from your character’s pockets without having a large duffle bag on is not permitted.
- If someone, such as EMS, is using /me to check your injuries or interact with you, you are REQUIRED to respond with a /me of your own. Failure to do so is FailRP.
Section Six: Quality Of Roleplay
- Creating roleplay that does not provide a good experience to other members and/or does not progress your story line, or the story lines of others in a productive manner is discouraged. Examples include: shooting people for just talking smack, stopping scenes prematurely short for no reason, consistently abusing/degrading people for no reason, baiting law enforcement, information dumping, character asset dumping, not realistically roleplaying out your injuries whether you go to the hospital or not, or anything The Oasis Roleplay STAFF TEAM deems as poor quality roleplay. These are all case by case and become more severe based on consistency.
Remember, the above situations are not the only examples of FailRP. The general rule of thumb to have here is that if it would not really be possible in real life, or if you have to question it, it’s better to avoid doing it or at the very least ask if it is allowed.
Section Seven: Cheating, Exploiting and Hacking
- Using menus, cheats, hacks, or any other client side modification to aid you in game is prohibited.
- Abusing bugs or game mechanics to give yourself an advantage or benefit you in any way is prohibited.
Note: Similar to the FailRP rule, if you have to ask whether what you are doing violates our guidelines, you should not do it.
[GANG ROLE PLAY RULES]
Section One: General Gang Rules
- All gangs are whitelisted meaning you must put in a gang application in order to be granted a gang.
- Conducting gang-like roleplay prior to your application being accepted is prohibited.
- No application is needed to join a gang, only to create one (minimum of 5 members needed).
- Joining a gang is “bleed in / bleed out.” The only way out of the gang is through death or RICO. In addition, you will not be able to join another gang until the next gang cycle, this means you can not join any gang until after the gang you were in has disbanded or gone through RICO. No mind wipes! No walking away!
- All existing gangs must complete all recruitment in game to avoid metagaming.
- Gangs should be lore friendly (meaning they exist in GTAV lore).
- Gangs that are not lore friendly are still welcome, but they must stand out in the application process as particularly unique.
- Gangs must maintain a level of serious role play. They should not be running around shooting for no reason and committing unrealistic crimes.
- Gangs have territories based on lore and properties the gang leaders purchase. However, gangs should not be stagnant meaning they stay in one place for hours on end. We encourage gangs to engage in roleplay with the community.
- Gangs must follow the same kill rights rules as the rest of the community.
- Gangs should maintain a realistic profile to avoid detection by the authorities.
- A micro-gang is a group of five or more individuals committing crimes together that are not part of a whitelist gang. This is strictly prohibited.
- Alternative characters can not be “under protection” of your gang character or other gang members. You are a whole new person, act like it. Don’t conflict your characters.
Section Two: Active Gangs
- There may only be five gangs whitelisted at one time.
- Each gang may have a maximum of five players actively committing crime at a given time.
- Gang members are allowed to be on their gang character at any time; however, if there are five players already involved in gang related roleplay, then one character may not join in the activities.
- If you are just hanging out as a group you can do that but the moment the gang starts criminal activities you need to choose the five active people.
- Gangs may have other players with them to roleplay that are not part of the gang, but these players do not have rights to engage in gang activities and it reduces the groups active number allowed for criminal activities to 4.
- Gangs must provide a roster of all players within their ranks so staff may check the number of active players.
- Dealing with a regular Civ player is within your right as a gang , but do not continue to go after that player UNLESS they continue coming after you.
- Example: Once you kill/rob a player that scene is done your business with that player is complete until they start something else with your gang.
- After getting accepted, you must stick to the persona of the gang you have chosen.
- Gangs must represent their style of gang and colors of the gang.
- Members must ALWAYS rep their gang in some kind of visible manner.
- If a rival gang rolls up into another gang's territory, all members of the controlling gang already on scene are allowed to participate.
- For example, if five red gang members roll up into blue gang’s territory while 10 blue gang members are playing uno, and red starts shooting, all 10 blues can defend themself since they are on their territory.
- Only the leader of their gang can choose to permanently kill a member in THEIR gang.
- The leader must approve and be present for the killing blow.
- This is to help keep their gang members in check and to weed out snitches etc.
- Activity is key with gangs. If The Oasis staff team does not see activity within a gang for 2 weeks the gang will be subject to REMOVAL no questions asked.
- We will require Gangs to be active during their time as a whitelisted gang. In order to meet the requirements of activity, you should have 3 gang members on at the same time 3 times during a 2 week period. If these conditions aren't met the staff team reserves the right to disband the gang.
Section Three: Gang Wars
- When a gang leader starts a gang war with another gang, ensure there was proper roleplay and effort into the decision before making it official.
- When a gang leader decides to make it official, both gang leaders of the two gangs will meet to determine conditions.
- Gang wars aren’t meant to be a Team Deathmatch, there needs to be an actual in-character reason for the gang war.
- When in an active gang war, gangs must follow the same kill rights rules as the rest of the community, unless you are either on your own turf or the rival gang’s turf.
- If you’re being chased by the rival gang, don’t go into a “Safe Zone,” such as a police department or apartment.
- While in a gang you cannot have civ’s help you with gang wars.
Section Four: RICO Act
- DO NOT FEAR THE RICO!
- RICO is a part of the cops roleplay and so that new gangs can come into the city. So remember, you have a responsibility to get drugs, guns and other things out on the street to interact with civs and cops.
- Gangs should maintain a realistic profile to avoid detection by the authorities.
- Once the gang is about to face the RICO act, the gang members could get charged with violations of state statutes against murder, kidnapping, robbery, or dealing in a controlled substance; any act of theft, obstruction of justice, money laundry, commission of murder-for-hire, drug trafficking and any acts of terrorism. Once the gang is RICO’d, the gang is over and individuals may potentially be subject to:
- Sent to jail for life
- Sentenced to death (Character is Perma’d)
- Seizure of assets that belong to the gang character. Staff does monitor for asset dumping. This means do NOT send your stuff to anybody. Ex/ Cars, Money, Stored Items.
- Sentenced up to 10-30 years in prison (Character lives but no longer is part of the gang)
- You may be eligible to post bail determined by a judge.
- While on bail if you are involved in another felony there will be no bail and you will stay in jail until court.
- Again, if you need to permanently remove your character, you will not be allowed to transfer items, cars, houses to other characters. If you are caught doing this, the situation will be handled accordingly.
DO NOT FEAR THE RICO!
